Calgary Stampede Rodeo - $100,000 Super Sunday has arrived

Once a year a select group of cowboys and cowgirls have a chance to win $100,000 at the Calgary Stampede. A lifetime of preparation has brought them to an 8 second ride or a sub 7 second tiedown roping run. Personal bests and arena records are sure to surface with all the money on the line.

In the barrel racing we will see the following lineup make the short go run to qualify for the 100,000 run:

Lindsay Sears $13,500

Lisa Lockhart $13,000

Jill Moody $12,000

Codi Baucom $11,500

Deb Renger $11,500

-T. Key-Fischer $11,000

Sierra Stoney $11,000

B. Pozzi-Pharr $9,000

-Sherry Cervi $8,000

Joleen Seitz $6,000

- wildcard entry

A slate full of past champions, Canadian champions, and World Champions. It is anyones game on Super Sunday. You can expect an incredible race to the finish.

Saturday's Wild Card Tiedown Roping was an example of how its not over till its over! One would have thought they would have been safe with a 7.1 second run, but it ONLY brought 3rd spot...not enough to make the short go round. Josh Peek roping his first sub 7 second run picked the right place to do it. A 6.6 secured his spot on championship Sunday.

There are three Canadian qualifers on the bareback riding lineup, four in the bull riding, one in the roping, three in the steer wrestling and four in the barrel racing. There were no Canadians qualify in the saddle bronc.

4 time Calgary Stampede champ Davey Shields will be looking for his 5th win today in the championship round.

When hedging a bet on this afternoons rodeo its hard to know who to put your money on. Do you go with the person that has marked the highest score or the fastest time at this rodeo or do you go with the one who's won it before? The reining world champ? The past world champ? Its anyone's cheque at this point, we'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out. Pick your favorite, pull up a chair and enjoy CBC's coverage of "The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth"

If you don't get it on your television you can watch it live online. Here.
